The 2016 season was a busy one for Tidewater Sports Car Club. We managed to host a 6 week winter kart series, a novice school, a test and tune, 9 autocross events, and 4 track events. Whew, that’s a whole lot of preparation and planning done by our volunteer staff and board.
With 2017 we bring on a few new members to our staff including a new Club President. Brian Wells will be stepping down after a 4 year stint performing the responsibilities of the Club President. Brian did a great job in bringing our club to where we are today. He will be passing down the torch to Brendan Long who will be the new 2017 Club President.
We wrapped up this year with our annual awards banquet at the Military Aviation Museum. We had over 60 members join us with friends and family to celebrate and announce our season winners. We raffled off several prizes like a GoPro, a 10×10 Canopy, a digital tire gauge, and an electric impact gun to name a few. During the award ceremony, our PAX Champion Thomas Bleh gave a heart warming speech in recognition of his co-driver Marty Janzen in which he awarded him the Best Co-Driver Award with a custom made sculpture trophy.
We would like to thank all of our members that support our club and to our volunteers that make these events happen. We couldn’t do this with out the help of everyone that makes up The Tidewater Sport Car Club. Here’s looking to bright and exciting 2017. Stay tuned for our tentative schedule and list of events for the 2017 season.
