We have 3 events scheduled for the month of October. We start off with our Autocross at Pungo Airfield on the 15th. We then have our weekend duo HPDE and Gripfest 13 events at NCCAR, Garysburg, NC starting on Saturday, October 28th. If you’re looking for a room for the weekend, contact the local Hilton Garden Inn and tell them you’re attending an event at NCCAR.
Our HPDE is very similar to last years. We will run 4 groups: Blue (Advanced), Yellow (Intermediate), Green (Novice), and White (Instructors). The 4 groups will run in 20-minute segments throughout the day. The Green group will run with instructors that will help guide you around the track and give you pointers. The Yellow group will also have instructors but can run independently when signed off. The day will commence with a drivers meeting and we will also have mid-day meeting after lunch. The day will end with an open session for qualified independent drivers. It’s a great opportunity to learn the basics of road racing in a safe and controlled environment.
Gripfest is our time attack event around NCCAR. Drivers are sent one at a time with ample distance between the next car so you can focus on getting the best line and the fastest time in a safe and controlled manner. We will offer trophies for some of the fastest time categories throughout the day.
