In an effort to ensure we have a quality and safe program for everyone, the TSCC staff wants to ensure that we have all the necessary procedures and equipment in place for our events in response to the Covid-19 threat.
Although we don’t have any direct reason to believe participants of our events will be carrying the virus, we have to take a defensive approach.
Some SCCA regions have suspended their loaner helmet programs. While I would like to do this for TSCC, this would potentially cause a logistical challenge for some in the next 24-48hrs and ultimately not a challenge I want to burden new comers to the sport.
We also have safety vest that are shared amongst members. I’d like to give everyone a chance to acquire their own high vis vest or high vis clothing before the event to eliminate both the health and safety risks to corner workers.
Other equipment such as radios and cones call all be sanitized and disinfected, however we want to ensure we have enough disposable gloves for everyone and hand sanitizer station setup to promote good personal hygiene.
With these logistical challenges, the board took a vote less than 30 min ago to postpone 2 weeks for both the novice school and the PE1 autocross.
All that registered for the events will remain registered. Anyone who is unable to make the event due to the change can receive a credit towards future TSCC events or receive a refund.
