The board spent an hour and a half today at Suffolk Executive Airport going over the surface and planning for the autocross on August 29th. After some careful planning, pending site approval, we believe we have a plan to DOUBLE the size of the course from the last time we ran there! We look forward to receiving approval for this plan. In order for this plan to work we will be metering entry and exit from the event once the course is hot. This will not prevent people coming and going during the event.
Overall the site surface looks good, better than Pungo in our opinion, however it does need some attention to clean it up. We are looking for about 20 people, especially those who can bring blowers and weed whackers. Many have asked about the conflict with ODR’s event that weekend. We have communicated with their staff and have agreed to merge both events and allow for TSCC’s results to be counted towards ODR’s season championship. We look forward to seeing ODR’s staff and members at this event.
